At A Glance

  • Includes a USB charger for the car
  • Includes a remote control
  • Produces powerful suction to stick to walls
  • Works on a variety of smooth surfaces

How does it work?

The RED Wall climbing car works by using a small fan on the underside of the model. When you switch the car to ‘wall’ mode, the fan immediately kicks in creating a small but strong vacuum thanks to the fabric skirts placed on either side of the car. The same technology was utilised in the famous Lotus F1 'fan' car in 1977 improving its downforce to drastically increase its speed.

Two little plastic wheels located underneath the car move it around. The position of these wheels also enables you to spin the car 360° on the spot which is rather handy on a wall.

What Surfaces does it work on?

We tested the little car on a variety of wall surfaces and found that its best if the wall is smooth. If the wall is slightly rough due to the paint or the plaster render then it doesn't drive. So as the picture below we tested it on stone, stainless steel, wooden cupboards and wallpaper. It worked absolutely perfectly on all of these surfaces.

Is the transmitter any good?

The Wall climbing car includes a basic stick controller, operating the car over infra-red much like a TV remote. We found it to be a little temperamental requiring direct sight to operate. Make sure there are no obstacles in the way that will stop the infra-red signal from reaching the car, other than that, it functions as it should. There are a choice of three channels but the car only operates on channel A.

Who is It for?

This little novelty car will make the perfect stocking filler for the younger generation at Christmas time or even just for fun. With its low price tag, including everything (bar the 6 AA batteries required for the transmitter) you will be up and running in no time, making it an ideal stocking filler. It will provide hours of unique wall-driving action!

Conclusion

In conclusion, this exciting little car would make the perfect gift all year round, not just for Christmas. It is definitely aimed at the younger generation.
