Order a Rastar Transforming Land Rover Today!

Welcome our first Transforming car to RC Geeks, the Rastar Landrover Transformer! Rastar not only give you great, detailed, budget-friendly cars - but also transforming cars! Who knew it, you can have your very own member of the transformers family in your living room.  So let’s take a look and see if they are actually any good or not….

The Transforming Land Rover At a glance

  • A great idea that will provide hours of entertainment
  • It transforms really smoothly
  • Cool sound effects to go with it
  • Everything is included in the box
  • A great design with others available

What’s in the box?

When you receive one of these toys it comes in a white box with graphics on the exterior and a clear acetate window in which you can see the transforming car with all its accessories. It comes with everything you need to get started apart from 3 AAA batteries that are required for the remote controller. You get a rechargeable 600 mAh battery with a USB charging cable for the car too which is a warm welcome at this low price point rather, saving you from marching through lots of AA batteries.

The Key Features

The transforming element is obviously this car's main feature which is really good fun and quite cool (even for an adult!). This is a very smooth process which can be done using the remote controller by holding down the button on the left or by pressing the button on the right it will do it automatically in a 'soundscape'd' sequence.

As seen in our Rastar range overview, we talked about all of the cars having incredible detail throughout. The transformer is a little different as it has to be able to go from a car to a standing figure, compromising its ability to have a lot of detail. That being said, it has some cool headlights and taillights which flash during the automated sequences which add the amusement of this toy!

The driving definitely isn’t the smoothest, but that isn’t its selling point. this is a transforming car - not your typical RC car so we can't expect everything to be perfect. The steering isn’t the best either as it is controlled by the back wheels and a few stabilisers located at the middle of the vehicle. It definitely performs best on a hard floor rather than carpet.

The transformer comes with a 600 mAh rechargeable battery and a USB charging cable which is a great addition to such a budget friendly car!

In Conclusion

Make no mistake that this is more of a toy rather than a remote-controlled car. It comes with everything you need (apart from the 3x AAA batteries) for just £39.99 on our website. You can choose between the Land Rover Defender, the Zonda R or the Mercedes all of which are 1/14 scale. It is great fun and has a great novelty to it. This makes it the perfect gift for a younger child who isn’t after the smoothest driving experience but after a fun experience.

What we like

  • The transforming feature, it’s a great novelty
  • The design is cool and will get lots of kid’s attention
  • Rechargeable battery included and charger
  • The stability of it is very good thanks to the stabilisers
  • The addition of the lights is cool

What we don’t like

  • The actual driving is a little poor
  • The tactile feel is a bit plasticky

Where can I buy one?

You can purchase one of Rastar’s transforming Land Rovers or the Mercedes or even the Zonda R. All available on our website. Also, check out our overview of the whole range of Rastar here.
